Ritalin for Idiopathic Hypersomnia? - idiopathic hypersomnia
A recent a polysomnography (sleep test). Based on the results, my doctor diagnosed idiopathic hypersomnia (excessive sleepiness) during the day. My doctor prescribed Methylin (Ritalin) ER 20 mg, 2 tablets every morning. 2 weeks later, at my next appointment, I told him that I sleep not noticed a change - I was awake and alert and less. But the effects of the drug that goes away after 3-4 hours, and I would be very sleepy. I asked if it might take other stimulants, the effects longer. He said no, and no drug trafficking, the best thing I Ritalin. He increased my dose of 3 tablets per day - 2 mornings and afternoons. It has almost two weeks and my next appointment was, in a few days. The additional pill does not seem to make much difference which brings me to my question - Is there Ritalin or other drugs in addition to work best for me?
